It’s a bit lengthy, but give us some credit for cutting down 60 days of her life into 8 minutes

This is the video we took of our moms holding Jasmine for the first time. She was less than an hour old
2 months old and lots to show for it

We had a big party for Jasmine when she turned two months old a few weeks ago but unfortunately, we forgot our cameras of both the video and photo variety. Hopefully some people will send us pictures that they took and we’ll be able to share those with you. This post is on some of the happenings since then.
As you may recall, we got Jasmine a bouncy chair less than 2 weeks after she was born. She sat in it for a couple of weeks (not straight of course) but would fuss so we stopped putting her in it. We decided to try the bouncy seat again a couple of weeks ago and now that she’s big enough to support herself in it, she’s fine.

Now that she’s older and can see more than a foot in front of her face, I bought her a mobile to keep her entertained while she’s lying in her crib. The Babies R Us by us doesn’t have a great selection though and I regret the one I bought. It’s a very basic design, is a manual wind up, and only plays rock-a-bye-baby. Oh well. Perhaps I will be able to justify spending another $40 after we’ve used this one for a couple of more months. By then she’ll probably have grown out of the mobile phase. She likes it for now though which I guess is the point even though it’s more work on our part with the wind up
Here are some pics of her enjoying it.

Jasmine is not really a fan of tummy time but we have to give her some everyday so that her neck and shoulders muscle develop. She’s much better at it now and can hold herself up on her elbows for a few seconds. She’s even better at holding herself up when she’s propped up on her Boppy. She’s also much more happy doing tummy time on it because when she’s tired and needs rest, she can just lie her chest down and her face isn’t smushed into the bed.

Jasmine still loves to sleep while being held and here she is asleep in her daddy’s arms. She worked herself down from his chest to the crook of his elbow and passed out there.

We had another doctor’s visit last week and found out Jasmine is in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. Hopefully this is an indication of her future stature and she’ll grow up to be tall and lean like her daddy
That being said, she’s starting to get a bit tall for the special swaddle sack that she sleeps in. She has managed to work herself out of it a few times now as she kicks and moves in her sleep. Here’s how I found her one morning last week. Normally all you’d see is a head and the yellow sack but as you see, she’s worked one leg out and one hand up.

At the checkup, she also got 4 more immunizations. One was oral which she likes because it’s a sweet syrup. The other three were less pleasant, being shots in her thighs and all. Here she is napping after the visit and you can see one of the bandaids where they gave her a shot. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of how cute her foot looked pressed against the sofa

2 months is still a little young for golf but here’s Jasmine with her gong gong’s (maternal grandfather in Chinese) golf club hat. Maybe she’ll be a future golfer, which I’m sure would make her gong gong and daddy very happy.

Most exciting of all, Uncle David and Aunt Tessa (both of whom are AWESOME with children by the way) came to visit Jasmine all the way from Louisville! Some highlights of our weekend were dinner at Babbo (sans Jasmine of course), watching movies all day Sunday, and getting dollar dumplings.

First Bath!

She’s so cute
Just FYI she’s nearly 3 months old now so even though the video below is her first bath, I promise she’s had many baths since then!
